Artist Statement
In this painting, fragments of both human and robot intertwine — pieces once discarded, remnants of function and identity, now reimagined as art and ornament. These broken parts speak to transformation: what is thrown away becomes decoration, what is obsolete becomes reflection.
What would make humans and robots obsolete? What would come next? If AI no longer needs the physical world to exist, where does that leave us?
The painting’s structured lines form a pattern that approaches perfection, only to be buried beneath thick layers of paint — symbols of conflict and war. Drips of color evoke blood, the residue of struggle. Over it all lies a final ornamental layer, a surface beauty that merely mirrors what once was.
